Never alone

One of the best parts of being pregnant is this sense that this little being goes with me everywhere I go.

S/he has already done quite a bit for an 8-week-old embryo. How many embryos get to defend a dissertation?? Not many, I'm guessing. And then, how many get to set foot (or, I guess, set limb bud?) in three new countries, not to mention another continent, all before losing their tail? This here is a very busy, well travelled little creature!

Seriously, it's been amazing to go through my days with this burgeoning sense that I am not alone, even when there is no other person around. It is lovely to have the Little One here inside me throughout the days. Right here, growing and heart beating inside of me.

Bliss.

Mo

  5. YES! I loved having that knowledge too. Just wait until s/he starts to flutter around. Truly one of the most amazing moments of my life feeling that for the first time. I cannot WAIT for you to experience the same!!!

  7. It is truly wonderful isn't it? Mine got to hear a few different languages and travel to two different countries (and even 'home' to my family!) before too long at all!

I'm so thrilled for you both. And I'll be following along religiously!

  10. I hear you. My daughter (!!!!) traveled from the US to Canada in a cryo tank, then back to the US in me! Going away for a few days next week and we will be in Canada again for a day.

My mother was hugely pregnant with me at her college graduation.

Tell us more about the vacation, please!

  14. What a great way of thinking about this! I need to remember more often that someone is always with me, even if I don't know them yet. I'll admit to remaining a little detached this time around out of (fear? necessity?) but I like your approach better. :)

  17. Yay! I love that feeling too. And it's fun to talk to the baby about things like first plane flights, first times in certain places, and first foods. I'm fairly sure I look crazy talking to myself, but who cares!!!
