How I have missed thee

So sorry to be silent for so long. I've been reading your blogs, cheering you on quietly, not commenting very much at all. I have had my head down and have been just slogging through the depot lupron...one foot in front of the other. I don't recommend it to anyone, but those days are behind us.

Hard to believe it, but we have actually started a calendar for our embryo transfer, which is currently scheduled for Oct. 8. My depot lupron days are finally over and I am on to birth control (ha!) and daily injectable lupron, which will be followed by vivelle patches. Oh, yes! Estrogen! How I have missed thee! Let me count the ways!

Also I will start twice weekly electro-acupuncture momentarily to try to increase blood flow to my uterus. As of now, all caffeine has been stopped.

The idea that we will be trekking back to Colorado - and for a transfer no less! - still seems vague and distant, although I realize (somewhat dimly, it appears) that in less than a month we will be back in Denver. Wow. Huh. When did that happen?!

Also, next week we will speak to Dr. Schl. about how many embryos and which ones to put back. We vote for as many as he'll agree to. Maybe two normals + a day 7? We'll see what he has to say.

Thanks for hanging in there with us...here's hoping the other side of the mountain is approaching.

  5. I was beginning to wonder if the DL got the better of you! Glad you are back, and even more happy you are back in the world of estrogen! Isn't it amazing how quickly you feel like your old self again? DL is evil, but hopefully worth it!

Oct 8th! So soon! I'm very excited for your FET!

  9. So glad to see you back. I'm very excited for your upcoming FET! I hope the DR. agrees to the 3 embryos. I was 40 when we did our last IVF and we actually put in 4!!!! two looked great and two were okay...We got 1 baby...so I am all for more when you don't already have children at home...twins would be a blessing!

  17. Glad to get the update, and what a relief to be done with the lupron! I am sort of shocked that you are actually transferring before I even get up the the plate (thank you, warped uterus)! Best of luck to you always, and hopefully I'm not too far behind....

  19. so glad to hear from you! been thinking about you quite a bit.

....i remember the electroaccupuncture thing well. the other thing that ended up helping me was some sort of blow torch that they used. seriously. :)

  21. i'm curious; is the live birth rate for each embryo transferred higher for embryos that have been confirmed by microarray? i know that many people who transfer 2 embryos in a typical IVF end up pregnant with 1 baby, but i'm wondering if those stats are different with the microarray confirmation of a genetically normal embryo? i am so excited for you!

  22. Glad to hear things are moving forward for you. Dr. Schl. had me do electro-acupuncture too and it was bizarre. It was actually quite relaxing, but I felt like I was buzzing for hours afterward. Hard to explain, but it was like I could feel my blood flowing and it always caused my face to flush.

  23. Alright! One more month. Been thinking of you so much. This must have felt like the longest Summer ever for you. I can't even imagine the lupron hell combined with the horrid heat and humidity. But there's a crispness in the air, and you have estrogen in your near future, and a date with a catheter in Denver. :-)

  24. Lovely to hear from you, glad all is OK and that you are moving forward.

I don't mean to be dense, but isn't the objective a healthy pregnancy and baby and aren't the embryos already frozen? Why wouldn't you put back just one knowing the others will be there if you need them (I know the answer to this question: Depot Lupron, etc., etc., etc. And you have been through so much ... but surely the higher risks associated with twin pregnancies are not something you need)?

  25. Good to hear from you! Looking forward to hearing more!

  26. Have been thinking of you - hopefully things go quickly until the 8th!

  27. October eighth is a very auspicious day...my 41st birthday, haha! BEST wishes for a successful transfer!! (I'll be sending you positive and hopeful vibes from about 60 miles south of Denver...)

  31. Oh Yeah! My repeated peeks have been rewarded---so glad to hear you have made it through the horrid summer o' lupron and WOW a scheduled transfer date...So very excited for you and everything crossed that Dr. S. will agree to your transfer plan :) Cheering you on from upstate....

  34. Glad you're hangin' in there and have finally made it to the end of the lupron protocol! Hopefully the next stage will fly by!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Glad you're ok and nearing the end if the depot Lupron hell! I would put one embryo at a time back personally if I were having a frozen transfer, give each one the best possible shot at becoming a healthy full term baby, but I may not understand the ramifications of your ivf procedure as it was so advanced. There may be a reason you are considering putting more in. Best of luck to you whatever you decide to do.

  36. Good for you for laying low. That is so great that you have your embryo transfer scheduled.

Wishing you all the very best!
