Magpie's first venture into solids this weekend was a raging success. Six months old and ready to eat!

At first she wasn't so sure about it... |
But very quickly, she decided sweet potatoes were delicious |
And fun to spread everywhere in reach! |

OMG, she is so cute! Sweet potatoes were a favorite of my older son, too. However, I never got behind the whole food as art movement so he, sadly, never got to enjoy the mess.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a good time to look in to plastic or waterproof bibs...VERY helpful with pureed solids :)
SOO adorable!!! Yes sweet potatoes are sure to please!
ReplyDeleteShe wears her sweet potatoes with style!
ReplyDeleteCheck out Baby Led Solids. I got totally into it w Jay. Loads of fun.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! Ella just got her first taste of a veggie today - and it was Sweet Potatoes! Yours look a bit thicker, I'm guessing you made your own (we used Earth's Best Organic to start). Yay MagPie! They are SO GOOD, SO GOOD YOU SEE!
ReplyDeleteYum yum! She is so adorable. I'm glad the sweet potatoes went well for her. That was also the first food we tried with Miss A, but for some reason they did not agree with her. Just wait until Magpie starts to feed herself - then you'll really have food everywhere! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see her enjoying her food so much! She's absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteYeah, as Rebecca said, it will be in her hair, up her nose, and in her ears once she starts feeding herself. Then comes the "let's check out gravity" stage, where they LOVE to drop/throw food on the floor. Looking you straight in the eyes, with an impish smile. They ALL do it. You just ride it out until they're old enough to have some impulse control, then you have her pick it all up after she eats.
She is so cute!! Who doesn't love sweet potatoes!!
ReplyDeleteHooooooooooly mess. I think I felt anxiety just seeing those photos :P
ReplyDeleteSweet potatoes are my little dudes favorite food! :)
I discovered your blog last night and stayed up until the wee hours, reading your journey, hoping, crying, enjoying your black Hallmark humour... Thank you so much for sharing. You and Will are remarkable people and truly inspirational. And Magpie is just adorable!
ReplyDeleteToday I have learnt that after 3.5 years of trying (incl 1.5years of IVF), my first-ever positive pregnancy result is not a viable one. I am crushed. I hold onto a glimmer of hope learning about your journey and wishing that the seemingly impossible can be possible for me too. Thank you
ReplyDeleteYour little angel is really so adorable and irresistible. I could almost hug her from here. I simply love the photos and it’s perfect for scrapbooking. I envy you because you have a photo for each month of your baby. If only I could bring back the time. I sure have but some it I already missed.
Oh my goodness! She is absolutely adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteNeed. More. Magpie. Please. 😍
ReplyDeleteA gal after my own heart! Can't blame her for spreading the food around..my own children seemed to think food always tasted better when it had been in their hair!
ReplyDeleteI love it...and it appears she loves it too :) So cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of Magpie enjoying her dinner on Will's lap. And he gets to enjoy the fun too! Would love to know what you folks have been up to this month and how feeding is going and how it is to be back at work as a new mama (it was a tough transition for me, and still is!) Sending love from here and an Eskimo kiss on her sweet little nose!
ReplyDeleteJust catching up on blogs and soooo happy to see these pictures of Magpie. Hope you keep the blog going.
ReplyDeletesoo cute...:)
