FET #3: 6dp5dt: First HPT and WTF?! Edited

So I woke up before dawn and tested this morning, and got a stark white on the hospital HPT, which has a sensitivity level of HCG = 25. I'd also bought some FRERs and tested with one of those, and it looked negative to me too. I thought I saw maybe the ghost of a second line. But other times I couldn't see it.

Magpie woke up in the middle of the night and told Will, "I feel lonely." (oh!) So he brought her into our bed. It was nice to have her nestled against me, her little fingers resting on my arm, especially after my testing around 4:30AM.

Here are the tests below for you to see. If I tilt my monitor at an angle I can see a whiff of a second line on the FRER. Maybe. If I squint a little.

But I'm not feeling very hopeful about this. I'm thinking this is going to be a bust and am really sad.

I don't know, folks. It doesn't look good to me. What do you think?

Sigh.

Mo

PS - in terms of symptoms: no cramping now, some unsettled stomach, breasts are sore. Spirits are low.

*****EDITED TO ADD: It's around noon now, and just went to bathroom and am spotting pink. Which is either a very hopeful sign of implantation (I spotted on this day with Magpie's pregnancy) or the beginning of the doomed end. I just did a PIO shot this morning, so I'm hoping it's a good sign? But who knows.

  1. I definitely see a second line on the FRER

  2. I HATE pee sticks.

That said, on the one on top, I do see a ghost line. But I hate pee sticks. They mess with our heads as badly as anything can.

Pulling for you, here in New Hampshire, and so much hoping that a line pops out clear as day tomorrow morning.

  3. I don't have to squint to see that! I clicked the picture on my phone and saw the line immediately.

  4. I agree about the ghost of a second line - it might be there. Ugh, I am so nervous/anxious for you guys, just to know one way or the other FOR SURE would be so nice for you.

  5. I see something there, hang in there and looking forward to seeing your post with blood test results.

  6. I do see a hint of a 2nd line on the frer. But I have to gently say it doesn't look goo. There may be some urban legends out there but in my exp a 6dp5dt line is a lot darker. Sorry.

  7. I definitely see the FRER second line. But I'm not sure it means anything, just the stupid nature of HPTs. It could so easily go either way. How completely frustrating! I'll keep my hopes up for you.

  8. Delurking to say I absolutely see a second line on the FRER.

  9. I have a 20 inch monitor at work and I would say 100% there is a second line. Don't be sad. Remain hopeful! Thinking of you.

  10. I see a ghost line on the FRER test. I would not give up just yet. I am following along and hoping that this all works out positively.

  11. There's a second line there.... Don't lose hope just yet!!!

  12. I see the ghost line too! In the past I tested BFN at 6am and then BFP at 5pm on 6dp5dt, so it may take a little bit time to see a solid line.

  13. I saw the line right away. Fingers crossed.

  14. Definitely a second line on the FRER. No squinting required.

  15. I think it's very reasonable to expect that you might not get a positive on day 6 and still be pregnant. I sure see something though!! If I were you, I'd test tonight. Perhaps that line will be a little darker and those spirits will soar before bedtime. I am rooting for you.

  16. I don't comment much but I have been following your story. I see a faint second line on the top stick!

  17. Definitely see a line on the FRER.

  18. I see the ghost line. So you are 6dp5dt and that would only be 11dpo, right? Still pretty early. And FET's are famous for taking a smidge longer to implant and start secreting the HCG in detectable amounts. Pee sticks are awful. I'm keeping everything crossed that you have a slow starter and that tomorrow's test will be better (aka bfp). ((hugs))

  19. When I expanded the FRER photo I see *something * on the second line. I think it might be beginning of having color. I would BS you just to make you feel optimistic but I don't think you can count yourself out.

    1. LOL. I meant to say that I WOULDN'T BS you. And now that I'm on my laptop and not my phone I easily see that second ghost line.

  20. I definitely see a line. No question; no squinting required. Fingers crossed that it only gets darker as the days go by.

  21. Um, that is a second line on the FRER. And I know very, very well--too well, one might say--what a completely negative FRER looks like. I know this is by no means your first rodeo, but please don't give up hope. Tomorrow's another day.

  22. Do you have any pics without a flash?

    ReplyDelete

    1. do you think the flash could make it falsely appear like there's a very light line there?

      Delete
    2. No. It's definitely there. A flash might or might not accentuate the line. But it can't create something out of nothing. Are you going to try again later today? FRER was the only brand I used. Just bite the bullet and buy some more.

Hang in there. This is the mindfuck part. It's own special brand of torture. Hoping so hard for another happy ending.

    3. The opposite- the flash can make it harder to see. Especially on the cheapie where the flash is really bright. There's definitely a line on the FRER. I'm a (self-titled and appointed) expert line spotter, so if I say so it must be true :)

  23. After everything you've been through, I know it's hard to be hopeful, but there is a line on that FRER.

    ReplyDelete
  24. And by the way, that is exactly what my 5-day post-transfer FRER looked like with #2Son. I held it up to a brightly lit window and squinted but thought I was making it up. Hope the same goes for you.

  25. I see a line in the FRER!!! I hope it gets darker!!! I'm hopeful for you!!!

  26. Mo,
I definitely see a line on the FRER.
I am hoping so hard that it is the beginning of a beautiful pregnancy.
    Hang in there.

  27. Reading from my iPhone (so small screen)-clicked on the pic and saw the line right away!!!! Hang in there-hopefully tomorrow it'll leave no room for doubt :0)

  28. Definitely a second line on the FRER.

  29. That FRER is POSITIVE! I carried a baby for my sister as a surrogate. That FRER is what my test looked like at 5DP5DT. So fingers and everything else crossed for you!

  30. I am blind in one eye and have terrible vision (for real) and saw a line on the first test immediately.

    ReplyDelete
  31. With my first daughter, I had a feeling that I was pregnant and I was a week late for my cycle and still getting a negative on the test. It took about 10 to 13 days past the day that my cycle was suppose to start to get a positive result. Hang in there! Be patient. Wait a couple of more days to test again. Good Luck

  32. I freaking see IT!!!!! Oh good thoughts good thoughts!!!!

  33. My one and only take home baby, I had implantation spotting. 6 subsequent transfers, no spotting and no baby.
I am very hopeful for you!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Spotting is a good sign! I never had spotting with the BFNs. Very promising :-)

    ReplyDelete
  35. the frer looks like a 'could be'... there is a whiff of a line beginning at the top where the line should be appearing. that's what I see anyway...

the bottom one looks like a 'not yet'.

I still think it is too early. try again tomorrow. or with a frer this evening and hold your pee all afternoon.

pee sticks... in the end, they cause more confusion than anything else.

please find a way to get a weekend beta!!! to wait till Tuesday is just too much!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Mo, I definitely see the ghost of the second line. Also, my beta at 12-13dpo with my one successful pregnancy was a rock-bottom 39 (although betas for all my miscarriages had been much, much higher), which I hope will provide some reassurance. If it's going to work, it will, no matter what, so I wouldn't even take the complete absence of a line as a definitive sign at this point. Best of luck!! We are all rooting for you!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I see that line no problem and it looks pink to me, so I hope your next tests are even more obvious!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hi Mo! I also see a line on the FRER. I will tell you my story, with daughter I had a positive test at 11 dpo. So with son I tested at 11 days and it was negative. At 12 days I got a line like yours on a FRER. I considered it negative, but also tested with a Digital (because I'm crazy). The digital said "pregnant". So there you are. I'm going to remain hopeful for you 😊

    ReplyDelete
  39. Delurking to say, twice I had light pink spotting...on day 6...with 2 beautiful girls to show for it. Hang in there.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah, I see it. And it's unlikely you'd be spotting this early on PIO, I'd think. Fingers crossed!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I see the line. Until a blood test tells you otherwise don't give up hope.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I also had spotting on 11 DPO with my second son.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I see a second line on the FRER. I don't see anything on the lower test, but it's probably because of the flash and the blurriness of the photo more than anything else.

I honestly wouldn't read too much into the faintness of the second line on the FRER: my FRERs were never dark, even with very high beta levels. Every test is different, every body is different. (In my case, I chalked it up to the fact that I habitually drink a lot of water and therefore probably produce a pretty dilute urine.)

    Fingers crossed for you!

  44. I definitely see a line; and normally I can't see anything on those "faint" line pictures!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Start peeing on everything!!! That looks like my FRER at 8do with my twins! I definitely don't think you're out!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I see i!. Hope your next test is an obvious positive!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I see it, absolutely see it!!! Pink spotting on this day, good, definitely a good sign. I will be holding my breath waiting for your test results tomorrow, fingers, & toes crossed, sticky vibes and prayers being sent. Lynne

  48. I see a ghost line on the FRER, too. Fingers crossed.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I can easily see the ghost line in the FRER. Fingers crossed!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Really really really hoping you get a clear positive tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I can definitely see the line on the first one, even without Julie's NASA grade optics. Keeping everything crossed for you.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I see the line!! Everything crossed!!! I spotted with all my pregnancies early on! 🙏🏻

    ReplyDelete
  53. I totally see it on the top one, without squinting or tilting my monitor! In fact, it looks like my first positive did. I am crossing everything and praying for good things to come!

    ReplyDelete
  54. That's not a ghost line, ghost lines rarely ever photograph at all. I see the second line immediately without squinting......

    ReplyDelete
  55. I see a second line :) Uhh....would it not be lovely if you could just magically forget that all this was going on, and come back in 4 days for a sure answer? Keeping fingers, toes and everything crossed!
