Next steps

Next beta and progesterone/estrogen check is Monday.

Both clinics (New York and Denver) seem to think they are now my primary treaters. So I'm getting calls from both places with orders on when next test is and what to do (although the NY clinic didn't call until 5pm last night with the beta result - I mean, c'mon folks! Thank goodness we have alternate methods to get our results).

Both clinics are (so far) agreeing on next steps, but their styles on how to interpret our situation are quite different. The Colorado nurse emailed me orders for my next blood draw and titled it "orders for MOM." She even said she might not check the beta anymore because it has been so great, but threw it in just because. The New York clinic on the other hand called (finally!!) and said, "Hi, this is nurse so-and-so, and I have somewhat good news." Wow. Somewhat? I'd call it great news. Since I can't undo the first beta level, I think we're doing great given where we started!

So those are next steps. We will be focusing on staying sane - and staying pregnant! - over the weekend.

Oh, please please please let this one stick.

Mo

  1. Even after the news of a positive beta Drs still can't agree?

  2. The discord between the two clinics stinks, but I'd go with the clinic that wrote MOM on your orders! : ) Staying in a positive frame of mind is a good idea IMO, so don't let that other clinic damper your spirits! Hoping for continued doubling--things are going GREAT so far!

  6. I think NY is calling it "somewhat good" just because they cant take the credit for it! I'm also casting an enthusiastic vote for Denver's MOM version! Warm wishes and prayers and love and sticky dust!

  8. Gosh Mo, I think the numbers are looking great! They did start of low but as you know the doubling is the big indicator. Glad you have the rah rah clinic (LOVE the note to MOM!!!) in your corner as well and the "covering our butts" clinic. Whatever. Celebrate NOW.

  9. I don't think I like the nurse at the NY clinic! What a sore way to give those results. I hope Monday's numbers are fantastic!!

  10. Funny how the clinics seem now to have flip flopped their optimism/pessimism stances. I suppose there is nothing to do but hang on for the ride. Take care.

  11. There are never too many blood test offers in my opinion!
I hope you have a lovely preggers weekend!

  12. Hello, visiting for the first time thanks to ICLW! Fingers crossed for many days, weeks, and months of stickiness with a healthy babe at the end of it all :)

  13. I say go with the MOM diagnosis. You levels are increasing in a great way. There's no need to make you worry by using words like "somewhat"...that's just uncalled for. Enjoy your weekend...MOM!

  15. I really really hope this sticks! Try to start to enjoy being pregnant and have a great weekend!

  16. I, too, go with hope and optimism over 'somewhat'. At this moment, you are very pregnant, and you need a clinic that will behave that way. After all, you are the MOM! Good luck navigating two clinics; as always fingers crossed and praying for you! Enjoy a wonderful weekend of being pregnant! SQUEE!

  17. Dude, I adore CCRM. Of course they called you Mom. That is so awesome. I have never been there, but the few conversations I had were fantastic.

  18. I'd definitely stick with the Mom diagnosis. Remember, you went to the Denver clinic for a reason...

  19. Congrats on a great beta!! And I agree with others -- listen to the Denver nurse!

  20. OK... seriously... 5pm? Are you kidding me? Thank God for having two clinics! I really really want your embies to stick. STICK STICK STICK DEAR EMBIES!!! Thank you so much for your support over the past couple of days.

  21. Ugh...so complicated to have two clinics involved. I think I would largely stick to CCRM only as it is their IVF procedure that created the pg and they have their own protocol to "protect and monitor" the pg. Just my thinking. But it's a nice problem to have!!! Awesome...can't wait for Monday's results.

  22. I say CCRM is the one to listen to ... you did the cycle with them and you had two aneuploid embryos transferred (maybe the other clinic forgot that piece of info?!). Well either way I'm going with CCRM mommy ... you are pregnant and things are progressing! I can't tell you how happy I am for you and Will. I'll be waiting on pins and needles for the rest of the good news to come!!

  23. Niki

I think you meant euploid. Funny, just reading "aneuploid" and my heart stopped for a second! Thanks for stopping by - your grace and perseverence is a real model to Will and me.

  24. I'm going with MOM too! So, so, so happy for you.

  25. I'm with the other poster that said that she'd side with CCRM. Me, too.

They're the fabulous clinic that got you to this point - they've dealt with the toughest IF patients out there and have the great success rates to prove it. I'd put my trust in Dr. Schcrft to do all the right things.

    Keep breathing Mo!! :-)

  26. MOM!!! YIPPEEEEE! Ya know, people love their docs at the NY clinic, the rest of the staff ... not so much. To hell with that nurse. Hope you're managing to stay in the moment. Are you still on chocolate restriction?

  27. Oh, you know us New Yorkers- we're mean and cynical. I'm going with CCRM- rising is rising!!
