What a difference 10 days makes

Ten days ago, I was getting ready for my first beta, staring at the stick on the left, and trying to devine if there was the faintest, faintest of lines there. I was thinking that if we were lucky, maybe I could have a chemical pregnancy (I reasoned that a chemical would be better than no pregnancy at all). The idea that this nearly invisible line (a beta of 27, if you rounded up) could ever become the line on the right did not really enter my mind as a genuine possiblity.

Amazing how things have developed in just ten days, isn't it?

Hard for Will and me to totally comprehend, honestly. I mean, seriously, we're pregnant? Is this really happening? Could it possibly be going to turn out ok?

We have entered a new stage of wonder and incredulity. Of fervent hoping.

Pinch us, but I think we are pregnant.

Wow.

Mo

  2. Another very-sporadic-commenter here,
I just want to say that these posts make me catch my breath. Congratulations on feeling the fervency of hope. I fervently hope for you that the sailing is smooth from here on out (well, as smooth as such difficult-to-navigate waters can provide).

  9. I completely understand where you ar at just now. We had 6 early losses, all with VERY faint tests and falling betas and when we first tested with the current (donor egg) pregnancy, we fully expected the same result. When we heard that the betas were doubling appropriately, we were stunned. I'm at 30 weeks now and just as stunned. I am wishing the same for you!

  16. What a great dark second line. Yahoo! You are sooo pregnant. Having had five losses, I know how hard it is to believe it, never mind enjoy it. Just keep reminding yourself that this is a normal embryo that is going make it the whole way. Lynne

  17. I've lurked on this blog for the longest time, but have never posted. I remember (im)patiently waiting for the results of my betas every 2 days and every time I was told they were doubling, I was stunned. Like, is this really happening to me?? Am I actually going to have a baby?? Right up until the day she was born, I was sure there was some mistake. :) Anyway, I check your blog every day to hear the updates and I am just so happy for you both. Can't wait for u/s pictures!

  36. Congrats on that nice dark line!! I just got my first BFP and am mildly obsessed with retesting (especially since my clinic here in Spain doesn't do betas on IUI cycles, so I'm stuck comparing strength of lines...).
