She is here!
Ms. Magpie has arrived!
She came via c-section last night at 11:39, after a long trial of labor (36 hours from when they inserted the cervidil).
Will and I are both pretty tired but also over the moon.
Sending HUGE congratulations to all of you! She is just beautiful. I'm so happy for you. Thanks for updating, I've been checking over and over this morning as I'm sure many of us have been. Rest if you can, and enjoy that precious bundle.
Oh, she's absolutely gorgeous! Glad you're all okay. Of course you're over the moon. YOU DID IT!!! Congrats, mom and dad! Welcome to the world, Magpie! You won the lottery in the parents dept. Hugs and kisses all around.
So glad that everyone is safe, and that she's here. Happy Birthday Ms. Magpie-- the world was waiting for you. Welcome, and congratulations Mo & Will-- welcome to parenthood!
Oh! Such a deep sigh of relief and a surge of joy. I understand not believing until the moment of live birth, feeling like it could all go wrong. But it didn't. And now you've got a miracle rainbow girl. Enjoy!!!!
She is so beautiful.... The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! SHE MADE IT! I am so so so so so happy for you Mo!! You've got your daughter at long last and she couldn't be more perfect. What a limitless ocean of possibility in one small drop of a girl!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! SHE MADE IT! I am so so so so so happy for you Mo!! You've got your daughter at long last and she couldn't be more perfect. What a limitless ocean of possibility in one small drop of a girl!
Congratulations. This is wonderful news and she is absolutely beautiful! I am thrilled for all three of you! Wishing you some well-deserved rest and time to enjoy this moment...
So happy for both of you!! So much for the troll claiming you had a boy! Would love to hear the name you've selected. Can't help thinking it must be Meghan or Maggie due to your nicknaming her Magpie. Thank you for not leaving us in the dark. She is lovely, and after a few days of decompressing, she will be even lovelier.
I'm so happy to see your news!! It's been such a long road for you, but she's finally in your arms. Having recently had a c-section, I wish someone had told me to just focus on breastfeeding those first days, and let someone else take care of the changing, burping and the rest of the baby's needs. There will be time for that later--right now, take it slow and let yourself heal. And enjoy that little baby!
She's PERFECT! She's BEAUTIFUL! I can stop holding my breath now! So freakin' happy for you, Mommy & Daddy :) :) :) :) Magpie's pic is my screensaver to remind me that miracles happen & dreams come true!
So VERY happy for all three of you. You and Will because you get such a lovely little girl in your lives, and happy for her because--wow--such wonderful parents to be born to!
Congratulations!!! What an inspiration you have been to me on my own journey. You have given me hope when I thought there was none, and now, what a beautiful culmination for you - this makes me so happy and gives me so much hope!
So, so, so incredibly happy for you and Will and Magpie! CONGRATULATIONS!!! She is beautiful and perfect, and you are a mom!
This is just the beginning of the most wonderful, amazing adventure. I can't wait to hear more about Magpie's arrival into the world, and all of your thoughts and experiences in parenting that are yet to come...
CONGRATULATIONS! I'm really sorry that you ended up with a C-section. I know that's not what you wanted and totally understand. But I'm SO overjoyed that Ms. Magpie is here, in this world, safe and sound. Rest up and as one commenter said, focus on breastfeeding and let everyone else do the diaper changes. And although it may go against your instincts, don't be afraid to make use of the nursery so that you can get some rest. You will have plenty of sleepless nights at home after you leave the hospital. Congratulations again!
Congratulations Mo & Will!!!! I have been holding my breath for the past two days!!! She is beautiful...I love those cheeks! Enjoy the first few days while in the hospital resting...they are very special days. Mo..you are a MOM!!!! I am so thrilled that you have finally welcomed your little miracle.
CONGRATULATIONS! She looks just like her u/s picture...I love the little cheeks. I can't wait to hear all about your experience. So glad everyone is ok and doing well. Thanks for taking a break from that little beauty to share a picture with us. She's beautiful! Great job, Mo and Will!
YAYAYAY!!!! I'd been checking frequently for updates and reminding myself that indications can take a long time (I should know- like you- mine was 36 hours from cervadil to c-section!). So glad that she's here and everyone is safe and happy!
I simply couldn't be more thrilled for you and Will. I have goosies everywhere! I've been checking in at a stalkers pace! Congratulations, Mo. Enjoy these first days ... all of these moments. You are going to be wonderful parents. EEEEEK! I am so happy!
Congratulations!! That word fails to capture how truly grateful I am that you safely delivered a healthy, gorgeous baby girl... but it's the best I can do! :)
Delurking to say a heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS! I've been following since the beginning of this pregnancy (and of course read all your past posts) and cannot say how happy I am for you and your family! Enjoy your little bundle!
Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl. I am so very happy for you and Will! You've been through hell and back, but this sweet face is worth it! I hope you can get a little rest, those c sections are no joke!!!
She is beautiful and, I'm sure, practically perfect in every way. Congratulations to you all, and doesn't it feel good to say "all" instead of "both," at last!
So, so thrilled for you! I've been reading your blog for years, and think I may have delurked once or twice before. I'm also a psychologist with a long-but-FINALLY-successful IVF history. My lucky try #13 is now a wonderful 2-year-old who makes me laugh all the time. Enjoy every minute! It just gets better every day :)
Congradulations! She looks just like the ultrasound pic. Beautiful!
As someone who ended up with a c-section after an induction at 39 weeks for some medical indications, I hope you are ok with the c-section. I fretted for 2-3 months, wrote about my guilt, etc etc. Then woke up one day and let it go. Don't waste this time! You had excellent indications for your care. Enjoy this time, bond, nurse, cuddle, (take the pain meds if needed), sleep! Congrats again! hil
Adding my voice to the chorus of long-time lurkers who are so happy for you. Congratulations. I am overjoyed that you are parents at long, long last. What a journey--your persistence and strength is inspiring.
Congratulations! She is beautiful! I am so glad she is here safely and that you are both healthy. I agree with those who said to stay on top of the pain medication. The first 24 hours after the csection I felt great. Then the duramorph wore off. Ouch. Don't feel like you should power through and suffer. Take the vicodin. Also have Will bring you cozy fluffy pillows from home (much better than those flat brick like hospital pillows) and stay as long as you can and get all the help you can from the nurses and lactation people.
I am so happy for you both! Your miracle take home baby is here, and she is so lucky to have you guys for parents!
36 hours of labour? You're a hero! And I could not be happier for you, Will and Magpie, officially a family of three (plus Moxie). Congratulations! I hope you both find as much rest as you can, for this next stage of hard work and rampant emotions--but I am so *so* glad you're getting to experience it.
And Oh Mo and Will, "Congratulations" just does not do it justice.
Thank you universe. Thank you IVF gods god/goddess/all-that-is luck and persistence luck and tenacity luck and luck and luck and luck and the hard hard hard work of journeying just thank you.
De-lurking also.............to say the biggest biggest congratulations to you and Mo!! What a beauty she is!! What a miracle and this has made my day!!
congratulations!!! She is beautiful! Your birth experience sounds like mine - Try to get as much rest as you can - so happy she is finally finally here!
HOOOOORRRRAAAAAAY MAGPIE!!! Mo, I am so, so thrilled for you and Will. I too had a c section after induction got me nowhere. (And after the six-week checkup, when I had little reason to quiver in fear at the thought of returning to Doing YouKnowWhat, I found a silver lining.) Magpie is beautiful, glorious, and oh, so loved. I'm glad that she's here and healthy, and I hope that you are recovering well. Don't be afraid to use the drugs (I was. It sucked. Ask for torbidol if you're allowed to have it.), and give Will the privilege of changing all the diapers while you're in the hospital.
Now for goodness sake, Mo's body, let's make breastfeeding easy, okay? This girl has been through enough.
Please kiss those sweet, beautiful cheeks for me. xoxo
Congratulations from New Zealand! Magpie is simply gorgeous. A big hug of congratulations to both you and Will! I've been reading your story for several years and I am so very happy to see your Magpie arrive safe and healthy and so gosh darn CUTE!! :D
You've achieved what once seemed unachievable! Congratulations to you all. Your strength and determination will be a wonderful example to your Magpie. We can't wait to hear more about her. I hope you can get some rest now and enjoy your beautiful baby. Caroline x
Congratulations & Welcome Magpie! So happy to hear of her arrival and that all is well. I agree with the other comments, sleep as much as you can while in the hospital! God Bless all of you. Lynne

She is beautiful!! Congrats to you both on her arrival! I am sure you will be enjoying every second from this point on!! So very, very happy for you both!! Welcome to this amazingly crazy world Magpie!! You are so loved words cannot describe it!
Congratulations! Happiest (and most tired) day of your life! I am so thrilled your dream has come true and that she is here. I am so happy for you both. She is one incredibly lucky girl to be here today and for having such loving, dedicated parents.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! So over the moon excited and happy for you!! Sending healing thoughts your way as you recover :) Enjoy every second with Miss Magpie!
Congratulations! Your precious little girl is beautiful! I discovered your blog a week ago and couldn't stop reading. What an epic journey you and Will have been on for the last half decade! No one deserves more to be parents than you two. Your perseverance is an inspiration to all of us going through fertility struggles, and give us hope that maybe we, too, can see the light at the other end. Thank you.
Oh!! She is so beautiful. After following you and Will for 4 years, I have never been so excited to see a baby picture in all my life!! Congratulations Mo and Will on the birth of your beautiful little girl. After having to battle Infertility for 13 years before I finally received my gift from God...I can appreciate your strife. God Bless and I hope that all 3 of you are safe, happy and with each other tonight.
Congrats Mama! After all you have been through, I can't even imagine how it feels to hold your little girl. It was a very broken road you took to meet Ms Magpie, but she was meant to be your baby. God bless, and enjoy your sweet girl/

Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you! She is adorable! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOh!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Mama! After all you have been through, I can't even imagine how it feels to hold your little girl. It was a very broken road you took to meet Ms Magpie, but she was meant to be your baby. God bless, and enjoy your sweet girl/
