Today is the day

Heading in now for the induction. I feel scared. I feel excited. I feel humbled.

My husband Will is meeting me at the hospital.

For now,

"I dream of the one yet to be born. The one still curled in my womb. The one who will open like a star."  -Carole Maso, The Art Lover
(thanks to Gwinne for introducing this quote to me)

But soon,

maybe tomorrow? Maybe the next day?

She will be here.

She will be born.

I can hardly even dare to imagine it.

  20. I think of you everyday. This has been such a hard journey for so many of us, yourself included. 14 months ago today I walked in St Luke's Roos. hospital to meet my son.

What an amazing feeling it is.

Praying for a easy safe delivery.

    All the best.

  25. On pins and needles! How am I ever going to get any work done until I hear that Magpie's here and both of you are safe and sound? Someone I work with told me that his three children were all induced, and born 4-6 hours after the induction was started. Hoping so hard that this is a smooth and easy experience. So glad for your fabulous OB.

Much love from our family! Sunshine is excited about Magpie's arrival, too. xoxo

  26. Thinking of you today! Don't worry if it doesn't happen quickly. I was induced with Cervadil and Pitocen at 41.5w and absolutely nothing happened at all (not even 1cm). For a full 48 hours. Baby is still here and healthy, so if it goes slowly, that's okay. (Also, I flat out ignored the rule about not eating. Just a thought!)

    Can't wait for an update!!

I can only imagine the emotion swirling as you contemplate holding your daughter for the first time, looking into her sweet face, and knowing that everything, all the heartache, pain, disappointment and uncertainty, led to and prepared you for this moment.

Holding you in light and love.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh Mo, I am unbelievably happy for you!! You made it!

I will pass a piece of advice someone gave me and I appreciated so much:

Be present every moment, every second, it is difficult to savor everything that is happening but try, it goes by so quickly.... this moment, the most important and humbling moment in your life, so just breathe and smile! Even through the pain.

Sending you all the good energy and a safe delivery.

  83. Finn (my 17 month old) and I said a prayer for you three this morning. He scrunched his eyes closed while I said our little prayer, and when I said amen he said, "Yeah, yeah!" and then started clapping - "yaaay!"

    Best prayer ever.

    ReplyDelete
  86. As the day is drawing to a close and there's no update on your blog, I find myself praying that it's because you and Will are so wrapped up in new-parenthood that neither of you has thought about the blog in hours. No matter how today has gone, I hope you can feel the collective wishes of all of us for the happiest of deliveries. Congratulations to you both, and I can't wait to hear how wonderful Magpie is in your arms.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  90. So excited for you guys. It is so awesome today to know that one of the very first people whose blog I started following early in my own journey is finally going to experience the joys of being a parent. Much love from the Great White North!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Have never commented Mo, and have never suffered your arduous journey either. But I am a fellow parent, as you surely will be soon or potentially are now as well. Really, you were a parent multiple times over and again in the past, as I am a firm believer parenthood starts at the VERY beginning, no matter what the travels are like.Your stories and journey has meant so much to me. You touch many people, even those you may not think really can relate. Wishing you and your husband nothing but the best in this new part of your journey as teeny tiny adult shapers, (as I like to think of it!)

  103. Hitting 'refresh' hourly... Hoping all is well and that Magpie is either on her way or safely in your arms!!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Hoping everything has gone well and that you have a wonderful bundle of joy in your arms (or will very soon)!! We are all stalking you! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  105. I checked first thing and am hitting refresh hourly, too! Mo and Will: still thinking of you and hoping that she's here and you're cuddling and enjoying the first few hours of Magpie's beautiful new life. Or, if induction is still in process, I hope that you'll be snuggling soon....

    ReplyDelete
  106. I saw on Facebook that you had a little boy, congratulations! Love the name, too!

    ReplyDelete
  107. Ummm, Anonymous @11:15, the most monitored baby in NYC is not a boy. This kid's been looked at so many times, there's no chance that ALL those u/s techs and docs got it wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Yes! A beautiful blonde haired little boy named Jackson :) Beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Wishing you many good wishes. Looking forward to hearing all about the family member.

    ReplyDelete
  110. wow! can't wait for mo and will to share their news...

it is their news to share...

    ReplyDelete

  114. Oh! The suspense! Can't wait to hear about Magpie's birth. Been thinking about you these last two days!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Thinking of you three, three! Can't wait to hear an update. Welcome Magpie :)

    ReplyDelete
  116. @ Dora- unless she knew all along that it was a boy and wanted it to be a surprise/secret?

I'm dying to hear, either way!

    ReplyDelete
  117. Susan, I KNOW! I can't believe we haven't crashed Blogger's servers.

    Mo! Will! Update, please!

    ReplyDelete
  118. But if she updated her baby on FB I think she'd update her baby news here no?! She knows we're all sitting here eagerly awaiting good news. And getting worried when time passes because most of us are the paranoid sort and all. [ahem, me, I guess?]

    ReplyDelete
  119. Still hitting "refresh" here, and hoping the three of you are snuggled up basking in the wonder of your newborn.

I kind of hope Anon 12:54 is wrong, not because a boy would be anything but a wonderful surprise, but because after all it has taken to reach this point, I hope Mo and Will get to make their announcement their way.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Waiting with a hopeful heart for your good news of Magpie's arrival! Love and hugs from another fan!

    ReplyDelete
  121. All this waiting is killing me! :-) I SO can't wait to hear the big announcement of Magpie's arrival!!!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Looking forward to your update! Xoxoxo

    ReplyDelete
  123. I hope you are lost in wonderful newborn land right now cuddling your perfect little Magpie. Can't wait to hear your update and see a picture (I hope!)

    ReplyDelete
  124. We're all excited to hear the announcement and story, but we can wait as long as you want us to! Certainly you've waited MUCH longer! -Carrie

    ReplyDelete
  125. I agree with Carrie......we are all very excited to hear your news.....but we understand it may be a while....this is your time to recover and to enjoy your precious miracle! Hope everyone is doing great!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Also from Australia and eagerly awaiting news. Hope it all went well and that you have your precious baby safely with you :).

    ReplyDelete
  127. oh come on, lol!
eagerly waiting for some news... we all care so much,
    gotta know things are OK...

    ReplyDelete
  128. The anonymous person who claimed to have seen the announcement of a boy has got to be baiting you (us) all. I do agree, however, that this wait is causing a bit of anxiety, and I too am refreshing constantly!

    ReplyDelete
  129. Praying that all is well and that you are basking in the glow of good things, and a lifetime as parents!

    ReplyDelete
  130. ? I am not baiting anyone. I am a friend of the family who was asked to stay anonymous. I actually saw little Jackson this morning. He is beautiful! That said, i wont update anymore since "some people" are going to be snotty about it.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Mo, we are going nuts over here! I hope everything is okay.

And if it is a boy, well, I just have to laugh because that's just one more thing you couldn't control or predict. Life with IF is like that. If he's healthy, and HERE, that's the main focus, even if he sleeps on pink sheets for a few weeks :)

    ReplyDelete
  132. Please let us know, cannot take it anymore, pray everybody is fine and healthy!

    ReplyDelete
  133. i'm going to assume it's either a: a joke she played on everyone, or b: false. mo had like 400 ultrasounds, amnio, the whole thing. the likelihood that it was another sex by accident is about.05%

    ReplyDelete
  134. Sorry, didn't mean to come across as snotty. It just seemed a bit incredulous. But if you are as you say you are, a friend who was asked to update anonymously, then thank you for the update and please convey to Mo & Will congratulations and best wishes.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Ha I should have refreshed before I posted that comment. Mo updated! All IS well. Hooray!
