Hallmark Rejects

Long ago and far away, Will and I used to produce an occasional series called Hallmark Rejects to document the ridiculous, and often darkly humorous, aspects of trying to conceive and the experience of recurrent miscarriage. Because it's not fun to be sad all the time.

We've been on a long hiatus, because, well...for awhile, we lost our ability to laugh about this stuff. But today, today, we were in the mood again.

I can't promise this will keep up with any regularity, but for now at least, here is another installment of the series Hallmark Rejects...after a long not-so-funny absence.

We hope you enjoy.

Mo and Will

  1. The worst part of PIO for me is ol' lumpy butt. Man, that stuff hurts.

Love this series so much! I actually have a cousin who works at Hallmark. They really seem to be trying to be more 'with it' and 'relevant' these days -- I would not be shocked if they eventually did a special card or two for infertile people (they may have a miscarriage card for real?).

Anyway, I don't comment often here (or anywhere), but am cheering you on from the sidelines here.

And remember--moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. There. Really.

  3. I too don't comment often, but am also cheering you on and am currently cheering you on from the wilds on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Although I am usually located outside of Houston if you notice that weird blip in your blog stats. Have continued to keep all things crossed and have wished on a falling star here in the Notth Sky that your dream comes true.

  6. I literally spit Dr. Pepper out of my nose reading this. TOO FUNNY!!!!! I am in awe that you can still laugh about all of this. Keeping my fingers crossed and sending all kinds of wonderful thoughts and sticky vibes out to you, for what it's worth. I'm not the praying type -- but I've found myself saying one or two on your behalf.

    Lots of love,
    Jo

  9. This is hilarious. We are on our 6th and final ivf with my eggs (still trying to conceive #1) and before this cycle started I told my husband that the only guarantee was a home-made boob job from the PIO.

Clearly 4 years and 6 ivfs have given me a sick sense of humor. Anyhow, I have been following your blog for 2 years and am really wishing you all the best. Hope this FET is it for you!

  11. LOVE this! This is exactly how I felt while I on high doses of PIO!

Thank you for your comment on my blog. It meant a great deal to me. Keeping everything crossed for you. I don't always comment, but you are on my mind often!

  12. Oh, I missed the rejects! I've been thinking about designing a line of mock onesies for IVF babies, like "100% synthetic," after receiving a very weird one from my doctor.

I recovered from the PIO after a few weeks. I've *still* got some major heparin bruises on my belly.

Regret management all the way. Hugs.

  13. Yep! After all the "ups and downs," mine are no longer even the same size :( Definitely thinking a boob job will be in order one day! Thanks for the laugh!

  15. LOVE it!!! It's been a while since I've posted, but it isn't because I haven't been reading (commenting on blogger blogs on my tablet is nearly impossible). You are part of my nighttime ritual - brush teeth, take vitamins, check Mo's blog, catch up on WWF.

Just know I'm here cheering you on, and holding my breath with you every step of the way.

BTW, as an aside, I'm curious, how long does CCRM keep you on the antihistimine cocktail?

  17. mine got a little bigger, but the real oddity was all the blue lines over them... pg or not, i think the pio adds to the blue veins.

those boobs are gigantic- they aren't really yours, are they?!
    :)

hope you are hanging in there... tomorrow- u/s? any more b/w results?

thinking of you, mo! are you getting this awesome spring-like weather today? maybe a nice mellow walk out in the fresh air will do your spirits some good.
