Will and I went in to the hospital (I ended up doing most of my day but trying to stay off my feet, no major walking and just taking things super slow). Will wrote scripts for me to get my progesterone, estrogen, and beta level checked, as well as platelets and anti-Xa factor (both of which can be impacted by the lovenox). It didn't look promising that we would be able to arrange an ultrasound on the down low, but around 2:30, Will was able to work something out and we got snuck in.
And folks. I'm telling you, maybe, just maybe, everything will be ok. They couldn't locate any source of bleeding, and they could locate the heartbeat. They couldn't figure out how to do the counting of it, so we have no idea how fast it is beating, but it was visible, even to Will and me. That was a huge phew! moment. Especially as I have continued to cramp significantly all day (but no more blood!)
Most of the test results are back and look good. Estrogen is 615, progesterone is 23.12, and the beta (drum roll...) is 12,691 (doubling time 91 hours, which is just dandy at this point). Which makes me think that the ever-so-slight nausea I've been thinking I might be feeling may just be real after all. Yeah!!
So, um, it seems that there might be a baby inside this ole' uterus. Wow.
And based on how things are feeling, it's a baby with very long, very sharp claws.
We still have the "official" heartbeat ultrasound on Wednesday. But Will and I are breathing much, much easier over here.
Mo
That's amazing, Mo. Glad you were able to get in today and get some reassurance! Looking forward to hearing more good news on Wednesday. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat news!! What a relief for you. I also had some bleeding this weekend and had an u/s today at 5w6d and I too got to see the pole and the beginning of a heart beating. So exciting. It puts you at ease for a while. Looking forward to reading about wed and my next u/s is thursday and then I'm off to the UK for 2 weeks. Dee
ReplyDeleteOMG, SUCH SUCH SUCH GREAT NEWS! I am so glad that Will was able to work some magic and I can't wait to hear more details from your scheduled u/s on Wednesday (you are still going, yes?).
ReplyDeleteI hope the peace of mind is worth whatever favor he had to call in.
Congrats, mama...you are PREGNANT.
Whew. Just whew.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news! YAY! *happy dance*
ReplyDeleteI gotta agree with a previous comment: "Congrats, mama... you are PREGNANT." :D
Continuing to watch, hope and pray that all goes smoothly for you, Will and your little bean.
Am supposed to be working, but checking on you offered the perfect excuse for procrastination. Am SO SO SO happy that all is well and you are feeling relieved. I had a good feeling it would be. So consider this another notch in your belt, another milestone passed, one less you have to go through. You're doing so well...now hang in there until Wednesday for more reassuring news!
ReplyDeleteit is what it is,
ReplyDeleteUm, YEAH. We are still going. Wouldn't miss it. : )
Yay!!! So utterly wonderful to hear!! I had a pretty reassuring u/s too, more on that later.
ReplyDeleteAnd my repeat is on Wednesday too, our pregnancies seem to be moving in parallel!
So excited for you guys, I too had really bad cramping with my pregnancy. So glad you could get in and see that little heartbeat fickering!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful, wonderful news!!!! And quite the relief I'm sure! So very happy for you both! So, could she tell gender yet (ha, I'm totally kidding, that just seems to be what those people who have no clue what they are talking about but think they know everything seem to say) ;o)
ReplyDeleteSo glad that things went well today, And for what it is worth. I have been on Lovenox several times due to a need for dental work and surgery ( I have a clotting disorder and usually take a blood thinner by mouth). Anyway, while on the Lovenox I have had vaginal spotting during my cycle while not pregnant without any known cause, no cyst, no bleeding from the bladder, no bleeding from the uterus etc. I know this as one time I was scheduled for a GYN procedure so my doc checked as this was a recurring problem and I was concerned, so maybe just something about the Lovenox and the the vascular of that area? Totally TMI but thought it might reassure others out there who have to take it in the future.
ReplyDeletePhew! Great news!! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS!!! You have a little heart beating inside of you - I am getting goosebumps all over my body - that is the most amazing fabulous thing ever and I am so happy for you.
ReplyDeleteI think I can breathe now too!! You and Will have been on my mind ALL day with my lil line that could detected today at 48 hours before beta # 1. I bet the hb just started a few hours ago. Hoping Wednesday's u/s will show a more consistent beat - and it may not AND THAT's OKAY!! Great news.
ReplyDeleteWAHOO!!!! Congrats girlie!! I'll keep you three in my prayers! HUGS - Alison
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Another hurdle passed!
ReplyDeleteThe heartbeat? Pure joy and magnificence. Oh, what a relief.
ReplyDeleteIt must not be too worrying to your dr as they are not bumping you up from Wednesday. This can be a good sign too, but none as fantastic as that heartbeat.
Great numbers. Great everything.
Good for you taking it easy today. You tough stuff.
Been waiting with baited breath- soooooo happy for you. Phew.
ReplyDelete(Formerly K from Sunflower)
Yippee! You are a mother. Let it start to sink in.
ReplyDeleteYayyyyy!!! So happy to hear great news!!! More to come on Wednesday!!
ReplyDeleteVery relieved for you! I'll still be holding my breath for you though for, say, another 33 weeks.
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!! Soooo happy to hear this -- AM heaving a huge sigh of relief for you both. Congrats and hip hip hooray!
ReplyDeleteThis made my day!!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you guys:)
Mary
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful news!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful news - I'm so relieved for you and Will.
ReplyDeleteWhew! A heartbeat! YAY!! Been blogstalking all day. So relieved and happy for you.
ReplyDeleteHave been refreshing all day and am so relieved -- so I can imagine how good you must feel! Yay!
ReplyDeleteHurray from Cincinnati!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to add that when I was in the 6 week range, I had significant enough cramping that I ended up laying in bed several afternoons using my dog as a heating pad. I didn't have the same experience with my second successful pregnancy, but both of those turned out fine.
ReplyDeleteI, too, have been consistently checking-- so glad that you were able to get some reassurance and very happy that you'll get to see the heartbeat again (magic!) on Wednesday. Continually praying for you, especially over the next month and a half or so. As many of us have said, the first trimester is OFTEN full of crampiness/can I still be pregnant/OMG did my period just start? (run to bathroom to spot check/etc. Hoping that soon you will be able to breathe a small sigh of relief.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news!!!!
ReplyDeleteYippee! Hurrah for relieved parents too. :)
ReplyDeleteSOOO happy for you. Glad everything seems to be in good shape. Big sigh of relief :)
ReplyDeleteI am one of your blog watchers but rarely comment. I just want you to know that both me and my husband are crying tears of joy right now for your good news. We have been praying for you and hope this pregnancy continues And results in your miracle baby. When I was 12 weeks pregnant after doing IVF, I had a Subchorianic bleed and thought we had lost the baby. I remember the joy I felt when we saw our baby on the ultrasound. I am so glad you got some reassurance today. We are hoping the best for you and Will!
ReplyDeleteSo incredibly happy for you! Keeping my fingers crossed for Wednesday's ultrasound.
ReplyDeleteWow!! Congrats!! Sounds like ti's going fabulously!
ReplyDeleteAnother lurker here, have been following you guys for about a year and half but haven't commented yet. Just wanted to say that I am thrilled at your news, and have had a very good feeling about things ever since your transfer. It is your time!! Hoping that you can take some of the "good" (gut) feelings all of us have for this pregnancy and make them your own, so that you can enjoy the next 34 weeks. Best wishes to you three!!
ReplyDeleteWOO HOO!!! [does happy dance]
ReplyDeleteSO thrilled for you!!!
Phew!!!SO relieved for you! I've been nervously checking my reader for your posts.
ReplyDeleteFinally! I was off work today, so was able to check in every couple of hours, and I was starting to get worried.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the heartbeat!!! Can't wait to hear more on Wednesday.
A heart beat! Wooowhooo! I am so happy for you guys!
ReplyDeleteWhew! Days like today make you glad you're in medicine and can pull some strings, don't they?
ReplyDeleteOh I'm SO glad you and your sharp-clawed baby are okay :)
ReplyDeleteI am relieved and happy for you.
ReplyDeleteTHANK GOODNESS! Thinking of you every day. Very sticky best wishes to you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you. And so nice you have Wednesday to continue to reassure.
ReplyDeleteI must admit, I was afraid to open my Reader last night for fear of not good news. I can't tell you how happy I am that you have seen a heartbeat! That is great! You have good hormone levels, too. I'm so glad things went well yesterday. And you get another peek tomorrow! Yay! Always thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteOh... that is such a relief! I am so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteI am so ecstatic for you!!! That heartbeat must have been a wonderful sight!
ReplyDeleteHOORAY! Just for the record, it took 2 u/s after my initial bleeding to locate the cause (the SCH). Not sure why that is, but hopefully you'll get some answers tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHooray!! So happy you saw all good things.
